McGeorge Families
I have been researching the McGeorge name for about 20 years and have built up a large data base of names from census, headstones (MIs), parish registers and wills etc. I have been able to link up families and have given the larger ones family numbers. Samuel & Janet McGeorge went to New Zealand from Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. They brought with them their large family and settled in Rakaia. Samuel was born about 1836 in Kirkpatrick Durham. His parents were John McGeorge and Janet Johnston
John was a vet/blacksmith in the village.
John was born 1790 Lochrutton, a parish close to Kirkpatrick Durham
parents: John McGeorge & Jean Milligan
John snr was born about 1746
